Biographical Sketch

 

Carl Swenson

 

Carl was born in 1922. He attended the University of Washington graduating from the Business Administration College with a degree in accounting. He also had extensive graduate-level studies in planning, problem solving and human resources.

 

He served of active duty in the Navy from 1943 until 1946 and continued in the reserve until 1975 attaining a rank of Captain.

 

He was the Executive Vice President of Sweden Freezer Manufacturing and after 31 years with the company retired and started his own consulting company, Carl E. Swenson and Associates.

 

Carl has served as the chairman Human Resources Committee, Association of Washington Business and on its Board of Directors; President of the Board of Directors Ballard Hospital and President of the Ballard Hospital Foundation; President and board member of the Seattle Hearing, Speech and Deafness Center Board of Directors.

 

He has held the following Rotary positions: President, Edmonds Rotary Club; District Governor, District 5030 (1983-1984); member of the Advisory Board of Governors, Zones 1 & 7; a member of the Zone Institute Executive Committee; District Chairman Rotary Foundation Alumni Resources Committee. He is a multiple Paul Harris member.

 

Carl was also a member of the National Advisory Board, Navy League of the United States and Manager of a hunting club.

 

He has served as a member of the Governor’s Advisory Committee, Washington Employment Security Department and Advisory Committee, Washington State Department of Labor and Industries; and member of the Governor’s Task Force, Injured Workman Rehabilitation Study.

 

He had four children.
