I was born in San Francisco.  I was adopted when I was 2 years old and moved to Coeur d'Alene.   I grew up there and went to grade school and high school and then went on to the University of Idaho where I graduated with a degree in English and an ROTC commission.  I served 3 years in the military as an executive officer and a public information officer.   I was stationed in the US, Bangkok Thailand and Korea.  I have traveled extensively throughout Asia, besides Thailand and Korea; I have been in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan.  In Europe I have been in the UK and the Netherlands.

After the service, I worked as a men's clothing buyer and then went into the transportation and logistics field.  I stayed in the business for 30 + years.  I worked for several large corporations and ran my own business.  The work involved distribution, consolidation of both imported and exported goods to and from the US.   After retiring in 2004, I decided to open up a running store as means to keep working and also be involved in something that I do for a hobby, running and biking.  My Store is "Running In Motion" in downtown Edmonds.

My family consists of 3 children, two sons, one daughter and 6 grandkids, plus a golden retriever and cocker spaniel.  I also have two half sisters that I found 6 years ago from calling a wrong number.   A story for Oprah

Lastly, my youngest son is getting married in October and has asked me to be his best man!
