Matt Smith

Born in Bremerton WA. Parents had a farm in Tahuya near Belfair. Shortly afterwards Dad went to work in the Hydroelectric industry. And we moved about once a year for the next 9 years or so. We finally landed in Tumwater, WA when I was about 10 and I spent most of my youth there.

I grew up working in my parents restaurants and at just prior to 16 yrs old I went to work for Safeway. I was promoted to Assistant Manager for Safeway at 21 yrs old. I held that position in all Olympia area stores and in 1987 was promoted to Store Manager of Store #219 in Holly Park Seattle. I held this position in 5 stores over the next 14 years finally open new Store #1563 in Downtown Renton in 1999.

In 2001 I went to work for PCC Natural Markets where I managed their West Seattle store for two years prior to Going into Real Estate with John L. Scott. While in Real Estate I received the Presidents Award and obtained my brokers license. In 2007 I returned to PCC as Store Director of the Seward Park store. I was promoted to Store Director of the new Edmonds store in August of 2008.

I am a single father of four “grown” sons. The youngest being 18 and in college.

I like just about anything on two wheels and enjoy watersports, hiking, skiing and other outdoor activities.
