Minutes of the Board of Directors meeting of October 20, 2004
In attendance were Elizabeth Crouch, Kathy Dahlstrom, Pam Halsan, Don Henderson, Alex Hopkins, Mike Kealy, Carol Kinney, Joan Longstaff, Rick Nelson, Rod Norman , Pat Thorpe and Karen Wiggins.
Meeting was called to order at 7:34am by President Elizabeth Crouch.
Joan asked that a discussion of what activities constitute a makeup under new business. Mike Kealy asked that there be a discussion of Waterfront Festival sponsorship under new business. Theses were added to the agenda with the caveat that the budget was the main priority for the meeting. Minutes for the meetings of 09/15/2004 and 10/05/2004 were approved as submitted,
Waterfront Festival: Karen objected to consultant fees being projected for 2004-05.
Other fundraising: Pig Roast and other fund raisers are not planned for 2004-05.
Club Service: District Conference should be $2,775, Club Retreat should be $2,000, Club bulletin should be $600, Operating Expenses should be $3,000, Supplies should be $600, Badges & Engraving should be $120, Member Recognition should be $500 and Total should be $15,195.
Community Service: Eliminate the first Miscellaneous of $1500, eliminate Edmonds Art Works for 2004-05, add new line for Centre for Performing Arts of $2500 for 2004-05,
Add Edmond Nutrition Program of $400 for 2004-05, reduce Miscellaneous to $2600, move $2.,000 from scholarships to Community Services, change Total to $14,550.
Vocational Service: Total of $4,000
International Service: Separate sheet, prepared by Carol, of $13,200.
Scholarships: should be $19,000 for 2004-05 as a single line item and let the committee decide the details of how it is going to be spent.
The budget was passed with the caveat that we are spending more than we made on the Waterfront Festival last year.
Susan Germaine was approved by the Board for membership
