SPECIAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING NOTES

 JUNE 25, 2002

Present:  Sally Hyde - Chair, Elizabeth Crouch, Rudy Jones, Pat Thorpe Nancy Brown, Brent Hagen

and Vern Chase.  Several members stayed after the regular meeting and

                participated in the discussion

The meeting was called to order at 1:25 p.m.  This special meeting was called to decide whether our club would accept the month to month room rental agreement from the Edmonds Yacht Club.

Sally explained that we had received a month to month room rental agreement with a 30 day notice of termination from the Edmonds Yacht Club.

The proposed rate is $75 per month (we have been paying $50/month) which is very competitive with other meeting sites.  It is expected the rate on July 1, 2003 will increase to $100 per month and then more than likely to $150 per month on July 1, 2004.  There is a one time cleaning deposit of $200.  We will pay for only those meetings where we utilize the Edmonds Yacht Club room.

One issue was the requirement that we could not store our materials in the yacht club closet as it was needed for other tenants.  This storage requirement is similar what will be required of other yacht club tenants.

Earlier in the week Sally had sent an e-mail to the members explaining the current situation with the yacht club and the possibility of moving our meeting place to Edmonds Landing where we had Pam’s Demotion Dinner.  The feedback from many of the members was that they wanted to stay at the yacht club and continue to have Scotty do the catering.

Chris Keuss, the new port director, has reviewed the agreement and encouraged Sally and the club to agree to this new agreement.

Nancy moved that Sally sign the month to month agreement with the Edmonds Yacht Club and pay the necessary rent.  The motion was seconded by Pat Thorpe and approved unanimously.

Bill Toskey, who attended the special meeting, said that it was quite possible that the port could find suitable space for us to store our banners and other materials.

The Edmonds Chamber of Commerce has asked our club for a donation of $500 to help them pay for the July 4th fireworks display.  It was moved and seconded that we donate $500 to support the chamber of commerce fireworks show.  The motion was passed unanimously.

The meeting adjourned at 1:36 p.m.
